Health is the foundation of social and economic development and at the same time an indicator of the current situation in the society. In addition, it is also a reflection of the historic environment. (Hoyer, 2005) Health is a fundamental right of every individual and of health is dependent on the quality of life. Health care is becoming a concern of society and not just the concern of the individual. (Devjak and Devjak, 2013) Based health and healthy lifestyles are formed in childhood and have long-term consequences for later life. Preschool child is open, vulnerable and susceptible to everything that is going on around him. (Lahe, 2011) The family, as the primary carrier of socialization of the individual, represents an important link in the education. Children acquire initial experience in the field of health care. In addition, kindergarten and kindergarten teacher are an important part in the environment the child. Parents and teachers should cooperate in the health education.
The aim of this thesis represents the importance of the role of a governess in caring for the health of children and ways of maintaining health in kindergarten. In the theoretical part of the defined concept of health, described the types of health and health-related factors. The following is the role of a governess and a kindergarten in caring for the health of preschool children. Presented are the areas of the Curriculum for kindergarten (1999) and the objectives that are directed towards the implementation of the activities related to the strengthening and preservation of health. Describes health-preventive measures in the nursery and kindergarten with parents the importance of cooperation and the health service.
The empirical part of the thesis examines the views of kindergarten teachers and parents about parts of the Curriculum, which promote a healthy way of life, we explore how kindergarten teachers care for the health of children and how parents are satisfied with their work. We also want to find out in what way is the cooperation between them and how important is an example of a governess in strengthening and maintaining the health of the child.
