Abstract

Title:Some theoretical aspects of landscape-ecological typifying of landscapes
Abstract:
The study argues for landscape-ecological aspects of spatial division at all levels - from the continent to small structures on the basis of patches that can be used as indicators of disintegration of the original forest matrix. Patch as a result of natural and social givens and processes seems to be most appropriate also for considerations of modem close-to-nature, multiple-use and sustainable landscape and particularly forest management, thus also for the shaping of the future cultural landscapes. Here the forest assumes the role of landscape ecological infrastructure - as a stepping stone, corridor component or part of the functionally connected archipelago which still renders possible that individual landscape components function as parts of the system.

Keywords:landscape ecology, patch, forested landscape, typifying of landscapes
