Set expressions as an expressive means with its basic characteristics are often included into different teachers’ public speeches. They are intended to stimulate the audience (e. g. children, parents etc.) and avoid the monotony of the expressed data. This was confirmed by an analysis of three public speeches which showed that these speeches are full of set expressions, that set expressions are evenly distributed through the speeches, that most of them are used with a positive connotation and that they are rooted in our language tradition.
