This monograph marks a significant moment in the development of the Teacher Education Policy community in Europe, which has brought together representatives of various stakeholders including Teacher Education institutions, students, school teachers, trade unions as well as representatives of the European Commission, the Council of Europe, the European Training Foundation and the European Network on Teacher Education Policies (ENTEP). We trust that this publication will mark a new chapter in the continuing dialogue at the trans-national level with the aims of advancing teaching and teacher education and improving the quality of student learning in Europe.
