The following paper attempts to shed some light on four fundamental
sets of factors related to disturbing behaviour, using the GIMI model:
factors related to group dynamics (G), factors related to the individual and his/her personal, biological and other characteristics (I), factors related to
characteristics and styles of management (M), and those engendered by the
institution and its culture (I). The paper seeks to explain how these factors
function – either separately or, as is more often the case, as a complex
network – to either facilitate or prevent the rise of disturbing behaviour.
