Public debates on introduction of electronic elections in Slovenia were sporadic and campaign oriented, and they opened a series of questions that public authority has to answer. The so far existing policy of informatisation of election system and election process had to be rethought from various points of view. In the article the author analyses the topic from the political science perspective, starting with the thesis that introduction of the informative-communicative tehchnology into the election system and process is not only technical and legal question but also relates to the questions of the very legitimacy of the election system.
