Abstract
Znanje je pomembno za razvoj gozdarske dejavnosti. Nacionalni gozdni program obravnava izobraževanje, vendar cilji, opredeljeni za to področje, niso ambiciozni. Biotehniška fakulteta je izpeljala prenovo študijskih programov; gozdarsko izobraževanje bo potekalo na treh stopnjah. Pri prenovi smo sledili ideji, da je treba smiselno zaokrožiti naravoslovne, tehnične in družboslovne vsebine in vzgajati diplomante s širokim znanjem, ki bodo obvladovali nujne temeljne vsebine in imeli hkrati zadosti preglednega znanja. Na kratko so opisane slabosti prenovljenega študija gozdarstva in dileme glede prihodnjega razvoja študija gozdarstva pri nas in v evropskem prostoru.

Title:Importance of the university for education in forestry
Abstract:
The knowledge is important for the development of the forestry. The national Forest Program deals with the education, but the objectives, determined for this field, are not very ambitious. The Biotechnical Faculty carried out the renovation of the study programs; the forestry education will take place in three grades. Performing the renovation we followed the idea of sensibly rounding up scientific, technical and social contents and educating graduates with broad knowledge, mastering the necessary basic contents and, at the same time, having sufficient overview knowledge. We briefly describe the deficiencies of the renovated study of forestry and the dilemmas concerning the future development of the forestry study in Slovenia and Europe.
