Converting business ideas into business opportunities and their implementation is a fundamental task of the entrepreneurial process, which is closely linked with many obstacles and dangers. For the entrepreneur is therefore inevitably to thoroughly check their ideas and develop them into the right business opportunity. In doing so, it is helpful to make a business plan. For this reason is the model proposal of a modern entrepreneurial process, in which is the business plan of great importance. Analysis of the entrepreneurial process in small wood-industry companies, which was made with the help of questionnaires, showing that the execution of this process is insufficient and rather incomplete, although the majority of entrepreneurs started their business on the basis of good business ideas and/or the exploitation of (other) business opportunities.
