Sociological reductions are especially insufficient considering hermeneutics of everyday reality in the field of religious activity. It is the same with the assessment of the Mahnič s strategy which was performed in the past by the Roman-Catholic Church in Slovenia and it is stil a matter of present interest. For that reason, the author evaluates the Mahnič s approach from thepoint of view of the religious moral stand, which is significant for everyday life of the previous century. The aim of the study is to confirm three theses, which are to analyze new trends in (Slovenian) Catholicism. The first refers to contemporary conflicts in the field of moral judgement; the second one refers to the connection between concrete moral directives for daily decisions and actions on this level; and the third thesis refers to (religious) effects of the Mahnič s strategy, if it were to be performed in present social conditions.
