Nowadays firms are faced with a large competition ruling the market. If a firm wants to still exist and create a desired profit, it has to produce competitive products. To ensure that it should invest means in development of production. Alples firm decided that the old technology of manual packaging in the assembly section needs to be replaced with a new packaging line. Manual packaging represented a major problem in transport and manipulation of elements. Proposals and bids to establish a new packaging technology were prepared by 3 different firms. In deciding which technology to choose, a computer programme DEXi, one of the assigned programmes to make a multicriterion decision, was used. The best results in the decision-making process were attained by packaging technology of Ligmatech firm. New technology eliminates the heavy physical work of manual sealing and storage of packages, and achieves greater quality of sealing the packages and the appearance of sealed cardboard. It was found that the productivity in the packaging increased for almost 30 %, so justifying the selection and purchasing of the packing line in the Alples firm.
