The aim of this graduation thesis was to analyze the values of the principal track geometry parameters measured on two line sections of the Slovenian railway network.
By taking into account the Rules on Railway Line Superstructure, OG RS št. 92/2010, the European Standard, No. prEn 13848-5, 2005, Directive 2008/57/EC on interoperability of the railway system in the EC: TSI, 2011, and UIC 518 Ed. 3 (2005), the principal track geometry parameters (gauge, twist, cant, stability and alignment) and allowed deviations from the normal values of individual parameters are described in this thesis.
The graduation thesis furthermore deals with measuring vehicles EM 120 marked with FMK 004 and UFM 120. They have both been used for measuring the principal track geometry parameters on the Slovenian railway network.. In addition, measuring vehicles EM 250 and EM-SAT 120, which carry out measurements of geometry parameters on high-speed tracks, are also described in the thesis.
The practical part of the graduation thesis deals with two line sections: Jesenice – Bohinjska Bistrica and Lesce Bled – Žirovnica. For the line section Jesenice – Bohinjska Bistrica, first the values of the principal track geometry parameters measured on 10 May 2011 are presented and then also the improved values obtained by measurements on 15 May 2012. The values were improved as a result of maintenance works. In the measurements of 10 May 2011, the greatest deviation from the normal value was recorded for the parameter gauge. For the line section Lesce Bled – Žirovnica, the values of the parameters stability and twist measured on 10 April 2010 and 10 November 2010 are presented. From the measurements of 10 November 2010 it is evident that the values were improved. A comparison of track quality at 500 m has also been made for this line section for the years from 2008 to 2010.
