Thesis theme is feasibility and eligibility of constructing a new railway line from Maribor to Zagreb. Thesis describes development of trans-European transport network TEN-T, parts of the TEN-T network in Slovenia and technical requirements for railway lines that are part of core or comprehensive TEN-T network. Thesis analyses current state of infrastructure on existing railway line Maribor – Zagreb via Zidani Most. Folowing the analyses, measures that Slovenia is planing on reconstructing and upgrading so that existing railway track meets the demands of core TEN-T network are presented and evaluated. Thesis also presents with results and possible routes for new railway line
Zagreb – Maribor that are presented in feasibiltiy studiy of Krapina railway conducted by dr. Heinz Petzmann and his associates.
Variants of route Gruškovje – Slivnica/Maribor proposed in thesis are based on one of the routes proposed by dr. Petzmann and are designed using CGS Ferrovia software.
Thesis concludes with comparison of reconstructed, upgraded existing railway and new railway line Gruškovje – Maribor. Feasibility and eligibility of constructing new railway line is assessed at the end.
