Cases of science-industry cooperation in Slovenian food and chemical industries

Publication analyses the science-industry cooperation in Slovenia, its main characteristics, legal, institutional and policy framework, the main motivation behind the two sides, the problems and obstacles for cooperation. The paper also provides suggestions as to what should be done on the business and the government levels to intensify the science-industry cooperation in Slovenia. The analysis is based on the assessment of different policy papers, a study of relevant documents on innovation and R&D policy in Slovenia, as well as on specially prepared eight case studies from food and chemical industry. In the case studies, both partners in cooperation, i.e. the science (public R&D institution or higher education research unit) and a corresponding partner from the industry, have been interviewed.

Abstract

Prva publikacija iz nove zbirke Založbe FDV, imenovane Analize CMO (ACMO) analizira sodelovanje med znanstveno sfero in gospodarstvom v Sloveniji. Osvetljuje temeljne značilnosti sodelovanja, njegove pravne, institucionalne in policy okvire, motivacijo zanj na obeh straneh in probleme ter ovire, ki sepojavljajo. Študija analizira relevantne slovenske strateške in policy dokumente o sodelovanju med znanstveno sfero in gospodarstvom in predstavlja osem študij primerov o tem sodelovanju v slovenski prehrambeni in kemični industriji. Študije primerov temeljijo na obsežnih intervjujih z akterji sodelovanja v znanstveni sferi in gospodarstvu. Študija podaja tudi priporočila za vlado in gospodarstvo o ukrepih za okrepitev sodelovanja med znanostjo in gospodarstvom
