The purpose of this thesis is to find the most appropriate solution for verifying and validating the device in the E-band area. Both processes are necessary in the development stage of the device so that we can properly establish whether the device is meeting certain requirements and specifications and whether it serves its purpose. The methods and measuring techniques, which are specific for the E-band area, are presented by the microwave radio unit example. The proposed measurement processes are suitable for fixed radio systems in the mentioned area, through the point-to-point links, and the established unprotected configuration 1+0. The thesis’s focus is on the measuring of the parameters, of the microwave device either as a transmitter, a receiver or the system as a whole. The measuring methods applied in the 71 - 86 GHz frequency area, are specific because of the measuring instruments restraint that takes place most of the time. Nevertheless the thesis suggests the optimal measuring techniques for the radio parameters and assessments that determine whether these parameters satisfy certain requirements. Also the measuring methods and specifications in the E-band area are described in detail. The parameters of the microwave system were measured at different frequencies and temperatures. The results gathered by measuring the radio unit WTM3300 were analyzed and presented in the thesis.
