The purpose of this undergraduate thesis is to describe and test a photographic technique used for merging photos into videos, which allows one to see the world from an entirely different perspective. The technique is called time-lapse photography. A good final product is created by taking into account the natural laws of photo composition, selecting the suitable image capture intervals, properly setting the camera and processing the product effectively. In addition, the thesis presents all the necessary equipment. This technique is connected with various problems. Some of them can be avoided and others can be rectified later using suitable software. The photos may be affected by flickering and when carrying out outdoor projects, the equipment is exposed to environmental effects. The thesis describes the procedures and the software that proved the most suitable for the project at hand. Final time-lapse videos are available on the enclosed compact disc.
