In the following diploma thesis I presented how a system for magnetizing soft magnetic ring cores works. Among other things the system enables drawing of hysteresis loops and measuring specific power loses which appear with magnetization of the core. I described the operation principle of an existing system and its upgrade which is the topic of my diploma.
The idea of the upgrade was to enable measurement of properties of ring cores at sinusoidal magnetic field strength. Because of a direct connection between the magnetic field strength and the primary magnetizing current, I made a regulation of a primary current.
After upgrade I made some tests and then compared the results made with voltage and current regulation.
When I compared results obtained with both measuring principles, I noticed that they differ when a core is being magnetized close to saturation. The reason for differences in measured results are different time courses of primary current and magnetic field density.
