The thesis deals with the measurement of pain caused by electric signals of different shapes.
We had 19 volunteers helping with the experiment of which 10 were male and 9 were female. The volunteers were stimulated with seven different electric signals. They filled out one pain questionnaire after each stimulation.
We expected the monophasic signal to be the most painful while the biphasic signal should be more tolerable. Our hypothesis was based on experience of patients and therapists.
Our results show that the difference between these signals is almost indistinguishable, however, the result imply the biphasic and alternating signal shapes to be more pleasant.
