Abstract

Abstract:
The starting points for our analysis of the current socio-spatial problems of Ljubljana's urban region are the concepts of new localism and regionalismand the concept of advanced city infrastructure. Analysis shows that the key obstacles to regional development are the cynical and opportunistic views of local (political) leaders concerning regional co-operation and the urban-rural conflict that has developed. The regional development of Ljubljana's urban region in the network of European regions is impossible without the (re)building of regional identity based on regional networks of developmental actors.
