Political parties are special sort of organizations, though they have some characteristics of typical organizations. Among them, there are emotional needs, most commonly expressed in a form of loyalty. Parties in Western European countries have developed various sorts of mechanisms for establishingloyalty of individuals to their parties. These are, for example, selection of candidates for parliamentary elections and sort of MPs' mandate. The article presents a detailed analysis of whether Slovenian parliamentary parties have a possibility of using the mentioned mechanisms for establishing loyalty. It was confirmed that according to their statutes they have such opportunity. In fact they also try to use them or even use selection of candidates for parliamentary elections and MPs' mandate for establishing loyalty of particular party members, especially in central organs of the parties, which embody the whole parties and also define the emotional rules. It could be said that Slovenian parliamentary parties in this respect do not differ a lot from parties in Western Europe.
