Abstract
Bakrovi zaščitni pripravki so zelo razširjeni fungicidi. So zelo učinkoviti, vendar je njihova poglavitna pomanjkljivost slaba vezava v les. Ta lastnost omejuje uporabo zaščitenega lesa tam, kjer lahko prihaja do izpiranja aktivnih komponent iz lesa. Fiksacijo bakrovih učinkovin lahko izboljšamo z dodajanjem aminov in karboksilnih kislin. V diplomski nalogi smo raziskovali vpliv vlažnosti lesa na vezavo baker-etanolaminskih pripravkov. Smrekove vzorce smo po postopku polnih celic impregnirali s 4 različnimi kombinacijami in 3 koncentracijami zaščitnih pripravkov na osnovi bakra (bakrovega(II) sulfata ali bakrovega(II) oksida), etanolamina in oktanojske kisline. Po gravimetrično določenem mokrem navzemu smo impregnirane vzorce sušili pri sobni temperaturi. Izpiranje bakrovih učinkovin iz smrekovih vzorcev je potekalo v skladu z nekoliko modificirano standardno metodo SIST EN 1250/2. Delež izpranega bakra v izpirkih smo določili z atomsko absorpcijsko spektroskopijo. Ugotovili smo, da začetna povišana vlažnost vzorcev pozitivno vpliva na vezavo zaščitnih pripravkov na osnovi bakra in etanolamina v les. Najmanj bakra se je izpralo pri vzorcih, ki so imeli celične stene nasičene z vodo (u = 30 %), največ pa pri vzorcih z vlažnostjo med od 0 do 10 %. Tudi sestava pripravkov je vplivala na izpiranje. Pripravki na osnovi bakrovega(II) sulfata so se v les vezali bolje kot pripravki, kjer smo uporabili bakrov(II) oksid.

Title:Influence of wood moisture content on impregnability and fixation of copper and ethanolamine based preservatives : graduation thesis (higher professional studies)
Abstract:
Copper based preservatives are very effective and frequently used fungicides. However, their most important disadvantages are low fixation in wood, usage possibilities of copper impregnated timber, particularly where leaching of active ingredients appears. Fixation of copper can be significantly improved in combination with amines and carboxylic acids. We wanted to elucidate how the initial humidity of wood influenced copper leaching. Therefore, specimens made of Norway spruce were impregnated with 4 different preservatives of 3 various concentrations. Preservative solutions consisted of copper (copper(II)sulphate or copper(II) oxide), ethanolamine and octanoic acid. After a full cell vacuum treatment, retentions of preservative were determined gravimetrically. Specimens were dried at room temperature. Leaching of the specimens was performed according to the modified standard method SIST EN 1250/2. Percentage of leached copper in leachates was determined using atomic absorption spectroscopy. The results show that the increased humidity of specimens positively influences the copper fixation. The lowest copper leaching was determined point at samples having cell walls saturated with water (u = 30 %), and the highest at samples with wood moisture content from 0 to 10 %. The composition of preservatives influenced the leaching of copper to. Copper(II) sulphate based preservatives had a better fixation in wood than copper oxide ones.
