Abstract
Raziskovali smo možnosti preprečevanja sivenja različnih tipov furfuriliranega in acetiliranega lesa s premaznimi sistemi, ki so vsebovali različna UV zaščitna sredstva. Proučili smo UV stabilnost premazanega in nepremazanega lesa s komercialnima imenoma Kebony (bukev, javor, SYP) in Biorez (SYP) ter acetiliranega lesa Accoya radiata (Pinus radiata), oprijemnost akrilnega premaznega sistema po 9 tedenski izpostavitvi umetnemu pospešenemu staranju ter vplive različnih UV zaščitnih sredstev nanjo.

Title:Prevention of greying of furfurylated and acetylated wood : graduation thesis (university studies)
Abstract:
The aim of this research was to investigate UV-stability of coated and uncoated Kebony wood, Biorez (furfurylated beech, maple and southern yellow pine - SYP) and Accoya radiata (acetylated Pinus radiata), wet adhesion of acrylic lacquering systems after UV treatment, and influence of different UVprotective additives on the performance of acrylic lacquering systems, including adhesion. The UV-stability was tested on self-made transparent coating systems in 9 weeks of accelerated weathering test. Properties of Biorez treated wood turned out to be comparable to the Kebony ones. Changing of colour of uncoated Accoya radiata was the lowest and constant in the second half of test, but overall, as the best choice the experiment confirmed Kebony SYP and Biorez SYP. Concerning UV additives, Tinuvin + HALS combination showed the best results, especially at Biorez SYP in relation to wet adhesion test. As regard cracking of coatings, the results were very good: from total number of 45 pieces tested the cracks were found on just 3 samples of reference wood species (meranti). Referential melamine birch showed a great side result at wet adhesion test. In future, further research could be done in direction of decreasing colour changing.
