The research for graduation thesis was conducted with purpose to determine howcorrect work technique could reduce the hard labour of lumberjack's work. Measures were taken at Postojna forestry region and the work was done by an experienced lumberman. The hard labour of work was determined by measuring of lumberjack's pulse during his work. The lumberjack accomplished his work in two days, first day by using correct and second day by using incorrect work technique. The findings of the research didn't confirm the main hypothesis; they even showed that lumberjack's load was reduced while using incorrect worktechnique. Results could be attributed to psycho-physical well-being of the lumberjack or to the lack of measurement samples. Also more hand tools were used during implementation of correct work technique. Therefore some research shows that incorrect technique of working is even easier than the correct one. However, pulse measurements also donćt show burdening of joints and bones which are common injuries at forestry work. In spite of all that, the correct work technique should be recommended and encouraged, not only for the sake of health, but also for security reasons at work.
