Measurements for my thesis took place under electricity transmission lines in the areas of Novo mesto, Mirna Peč and Krsko and were done in year 2009. Main purposes of the thesis were to present and compare the effectiveness of two different methods of working in cleaning of undergrowth. This research was carried out at four facilities representing various working conditions. At each facility, we marked tree species, thickness and density of undergrowth, portion of residues of trees in the ground, portion of rocks and a slope of the terrain. We recorded and compared both methods of working within the facilities, one method with a chainsaw and the other with a brush saw. We havefound that working with the motor scythe is more efficient and less expensive. The average effect of chainsaw was 357 m2/machine hour and the average effect of brush saw was 488 m2/machine hour. The average costs for cleaning of one square meter with chainsaw were 0,071 eur, whereas the average costs with brush saw were 0,041 eur.
