The Internet is becoming increasingly used medium, causing changes on different domains. It can be observed merely as a technical appliance, or as acontinuously arising and changing autopoietic system. User research shows that the Internet is a men's domain, which means that the computer culture of men is being continued. Men spend more time on-line and also use it for a wider range of activities than women. Research shows that there are gender differences in the way of communication. On discussion forums, men use impersonal expression and demand clear answers, while women, who are in the minority, use personal expression and soothe tensions. Research among the third grade students of secondary schools in Ljubljana reveals that boys use the Internet more often at home, as well as their friends' and relatives house, and that they spend more time for all the activities, except for information searching and surfing, where there are no important differences between the genders.
