The master's thesis deals with a topic that focuses on Gregor Čušin, a Slovenian writer, catechist and humourist. Čušin's work is explored through the prism of humour in Slovenian literature, its types and its influence on the Church, as humour plays an important role in Slovenian cultural and religious space. The different types of humour, its meaning and role in literature and in relation to the Church are discussed. Čušin's work (writing, acting, speeches) focuses on joy, and the connection between the Christian faith and joy, as well as between suffering and joy in the life of the individual, is shown. Special attention is given to the New Evangelisation, which includes contemporary approaches to spreading the Gospel through art and humour. In this context, the elements of the new evangelisation (language, boldness, depth, accessibility for a wider audience, authenticity, freedom and actualisation) present in Chusin's works are explored. Important factors of Chusin's work, such as the influence of the Bible, personal faith and life, which shape his literary style, are analysed. Chushin's work is further explored through two of his works, The Gospel According to Chushin and Stories from the Big Book and from the Little Drawer, which combine humour, religiosity and personal expression. The conclusion summarises the main findings on his influence on Slovenian literature, the Church and contemporary readership.
