Abstract

Abstract:
The Slovene novel has been present in Hungary from the 1930s. The first Slovene author Hungarian readership was introduced to was Ivan Cankar. The non-committal genre terms for Cankar's narrative texts did not manifest themselves in the Hungarian translation. It is clear that in the reception of foreign literature there is an "adjustment" to the domestic structure of literary genres.
