Abstract
Slovenski avtorji so zgodovinske povesti v nemščini v prvi polovici 19. stoletja objavljali v ljubljanskih leposlovnih žurnalih Illyrisches Blatt in Carniolia. Literarne osebe so zgodovinske in fiktivne. Slednji so predstavniki avtohtonega življa, ki so socialno sicer inferiorni, moralno pa vsaj enakovredni prvim, saj poosebljajo iste domovinske vrednote. Pisci so tematizirali predvsem avstrijski patriotizem.

Abstract:
Slovene writers of the first half of the 19th c. published their historical short stories in German in the Ljubljana literary periodicals Illyrisches Blatt and Carniolia and are considered minor authors. Their stories are defined as schematized literature as to their quality and classified into three types as to their genre: the classical-pagan, the Christianization and the Turkish-Chivalrous type. Their subject matter is derived from history of Carniola (present-day Krajnska) since the times of ancient Illyrians until the Illyrian Provinces and it follows the story patterns of love, family, adventure, moral and patriotism. The characters are historical and fictitious, the latter being representative of the indigenous population of inferior social status, yet morally at least equal to the former, since they personify the same patriotic values. The main theme is Austrian patriotism while love for the Carniolan homeland was considered and inferior value, which even in the revolutionary 1848 did not possess any attibutes of national identification.
