Abstract
Metode dela: Za iskanje literature sta bili uporabljeni zbirki PubMed in ScienceDirect. Pri iskanju so bili upoštevani vključitveni in izključitveni kriteriji ter naslednje ključne besede v angleškem jeziku: »musculoskeletal disorders« AND »ergonomics« AND »office workers« AND »sedentary workers«.

Title:Impact of ergonomic interventions on musculoskeletal disorders in office workers - literature review : diploma work
Abstract:
Introduction: In todays modern world, where sedentary work and lifestyle are becoming more prevalent, the risk of developing health issues such as musculoskeltal disorders are increasing. The most common problems include neck, shoulder, and lower back pain, which can lead to reduced work capacity and absenteeism. To reduce the occurrence of musculoskeletal disorders, changes in the workplace, such as ergonomic adjustments to workstations, are necessary. Purpose: The purpose of this thesis was to investigate the impact of ergonomic interventions on musculoskeletal disorders among office workers. Methods: Literature search was conducted using PubMed and ScienceDirect databases. Inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied, and the following keywords were used: »musculoskeletal disorders« AND »ergonomics« AND »office workers« AND »sedentary workers«. The literature search covered period from 2014 to 2024. Results: After reviewing the literature, six articles were selected for further analysis. A total of 663 participants were involved in the studies, with 513 completing them. The interventions lasted from 3 to 12 months and included ergonomic workplace adjustments, education on ergonomics and musculoskeletal issues, and exercises. The studies demonstrated a positive effect of ergonomic interventions on reducing pain and musculoskeletal problems and improving posture. Discussion and conclusion: Ergonomic interventions can influence musculoskeletal disorders among office workers by improving musculoskeletal issues and posture. Additionally, they have a positive impact on enhancing mental health, ergonomic knowledge, and the use of work equipment. Future research should involve a larger number of participants and a longer follow-up period.
