Abstract

Title:The effect of the presence of dogs in the workplace on civil servants
Abstract:
Dogs in the workplace is an interesting and current topic that affects various aspects of the work process, including the motivation and satisfaction of employees and their general well-being. The purpose of the master's thesis was to identify and present the positive effects of the presence of dogs at workplaces on the motivation and satisfaction of employees and to formulate recommendations for the introduction of changes that would help to introduce dogs to workplaces in the public sector. The effects are based on the obtained results of the analysis of the presence of dogs at workplaces in selected public sector organizations The research was conducted in public sector organizations using the survey method. The results of the research showed that employees' opinions regarding the presence of dogs at the workplace are diverse and depend on the nature of the work, the work environment and individual preferences. In some organizations, where dogs are already present, employees report increased satisfaction, motivation and improved relationships between colleagues. However, employees in organizations where the nature of work is more formal or if employees have frequent contact with clients, for example at courts, they are more likely to express concerns about disruptions in the work process, safety and professionalism. In addition to the survey of employees' stance, the master's thesis highlights the need to create clear guidelines and policies for the presence of dogs in the workplace. In this context, recommendations are formulated for the introduction of changes that would enable the implementation of dog presence policies in the public sector. The findings of this master's thesis are expected to serve as a guide for subsequent researches and as guidelines for all managers of the organizations that are considering the idea of introducing dogs into their work environment.
