In our study, several reactions were performed between nickel(II) chloride or nickel(II) sulfate heptahydrate and pyrazinoic acid in various solvents or solvent mixtures. In some cases, concentrated hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid was added to the reaction mixture. The reactions were carried out at room temperature or by heating at 60 °C in an oil bath. The reactions resulted in the formation of the light green coordination compound, [NiCl2(pyzaH)2] and a mixture of nickel(II) complexes with pyrazinoate. All isolated products were analyzed using different physicochemical techniques. IR spectra were recorded for all products and CHN, thermal and powder X-ray diffraction analyzes were performed for some of them.
