Abstract
Opisala sem gradnike bralne pismenosti in njen pomen. V nadaljevanju sem naštela in opisala načine spodbujanja bralne pismenosti v predšolskem obdobju. Namen ankete je bil izvedeti, kako starši razumejo termin »bralna pismenost«, kako pogosto in na kakšne načine starši spodbujajo bralno pismenost predšolskih otrok, kaj starši menijo glede razlik med načini spodbujanja bralne pismenosti otrok iz prvega starostnega obdobja in otrok iz drugega starostnega obdobja, v kolikšni meri se starši zavedajo pomena razvoja bralne pismenosti predšolskih otrok in kako poznajo področje jezika v Kurikulumu za vrtce.

Title:Parenting approaches to promoting reading literacy in preschool children
Abstract:
In my dissertation I studied reading literacy. I focused on ways of family promotion of preschool children's reading literacy. It is in the family that children gain their first concrete experiences with literacy, so it is essential that these are not the result of coincidence, but of quality and thoughtful preparation, invested time and effort. Literacy is an ability that every person needs for living and achieving their goals. In the theoretical part, I first presented reading and its meaning. In the next chapter, I described literacy, focusing on early, family and reading literacy. I described the building blocks of reading literacy and its importance. In the following, I have listed and described ways to promote reading literacy in the preschool period. Finally, I presented strategic documents that include the field of reading literacy. In the empirical part, I presented and graphically and descriptively interpreted the results of the survey questionnaires. The purpose of the survey was to find out how parents understand the term "reading literacy", how often and how parents encourage the reading literacy of preschool children, what parents think about the difference between the ways of encouraging the reading literacy of children from the first age period and children from the second age period, to what extent parents are aware of the importance developing reading literacy of preschool children and how well they know the language area in the Kindergarten Curriculum.
