The experience of entering the labor market is slightly different for each graduate. However, based on past choices, they are (at least partially) mapped out in advance. Since the choice of study or enrollment in either the faculty of natural sciences or the faculty of social sciences is one of the most important, research on the similarities and differences between the employment expectations of graduates of those two types of study programs is very relevant. As this field of study is very broad, the first goal of the master's thesis is to find out which are the broader factors (regardless of the study programme) that have the most influence on the first employment expectations of our sample in general. And then, as the second goal of the thesis, to confirm that the latter places non-material expectations before material ones. The third goal of the assignment is, again, to confirm that graduates of natural sciences faculties have higher financial expectations for their first employment compared to graduates of social sciences faculties, and the fourth is that there are differences in expectations between these graduates that are based on gender. The research was both quantitative (conducting a survey) and qualitative (conducting interviews). The number of respondents was 203, coming from twelve faculties of natural sciences and nine faculties of social sciences. The number of interviewees was 10, coming from five faculties of natural sciences and five faculties of social sciences. The labour market, economic and social conditions have been found to have the greatest impact on expectations. It was possible to confirm all three hypotheses highlighted above.
