The master's thesis deals with the area next to the remains of the Matzenau manor in Prosenjakovci in Goričko. The building was constructed in the neoclassical style, likely during the first third of the 19th century. The manor was surrounded by a park filled with indigenous and exotic plants. In the 1940s began a long period of inadequate maintenance and deterioration, in which the manor became a ruin, and the park was overgrown with forest. The purpose of the assignment is to design a proposal for the renovation of a park next to a former manor, which serves as an example of the revival of an abandoned garden-architectural heritage and possibly as an incentive for the creation of similar projects for the renovation of cultural heritage in the region. Due to the lack of monumental substance and reliable sources, it was difficult to determine design of the historical park. The problem of the thesis is to find enough facts, by examining the sources and remains in the space, based on which it is possible to propose a renovation. In addition to the renovation of the park and estate, a new program has been defined that would help maintain the area and raise the recognition of the settlement.
