Abstract
V številnih raziskavah so ugotovili, da izobraževanje prispeva k večjemu obsegu znanja o okoljskih problemih, ozaveščenosti in izkazovanju pozitivnega odnosa do okolja. Študenti in zaposleni imajo različna stališča do okoljske ozaveščenosti. Do vključenosti fakultete v program Ekošola in izvajanje aktivnosti, v povezavi s trajnostnim razvojem na fakulteti, študentje in zaposleni izkazujejo pozitiven odnos.

Title:Sustainable Behaviour of Students and Employees at Eco Faculties
Abstract:
Sustainable development has recently become increasingly important, as it contributes to the preservation of resources to meet the needs of current and future generations. Many scientists determine that education for sustainable development has a large importance at all educational levels. It must begin in the preschool period and primary school and continue at the higher education level, as it is crucial for developing a responsible attitude and positive habits of children, adolescents, students and employees to the environment, society and nature. For this reason, in addition to primary and secondary schools, seven faculties in Slovenia are also included in the international Eco-Schools programme. Numerous studies have found that education contributes to greather knowledge about environmental problems, awareness and showing positive attitude towards the environment. However, there are still differences regarding the appropriate sustainable behaviour of students and employees at some universities around the world. In the master's thesis, we used research to examine the attitude of students and employees at Eco Faculties in Slovenia towards sustainable behavior. We used online questionare and semi-structured interview to collect data. 139 students and 59 employees from various Eco Faculties in Slovenia took part in the survey. Six coordinators of the Eco-Schools programme at Eco Faculties participated in the interview. The results of the survey showed that employees know the Eco-Schools programme and the activities carried out as part of this programme better than students. Most students and employees are not involved in the coordination of the Eco-Schools programme, eco committee or leading projects, they are also poorly informed about the importance of the Green Flag and functioning of the eco committe. The most recognizable activity within the Eco-schools programme among students and employees is waste separation. Students and employees have different attitudes towards environmental awareness. Students and employees show a positive attitude towards the faculty's involvement in the Eco-Schools programme and the implementation of activities related to sustainable development at the faculty. Students and employees also expressed a positive attitude towards the sustainable behaviors of faculty building users, while key differences emerged between them in their attitudes towards the Eco-Schools programme, whereby employees had a more positive attitude towards the Eco-Schools programme compared to students. At the faculties, students and employees behave sustainable, but despite this, there are differences in sustainable behavior between them, which relate to saving paper, water and energy consumption and sustainable mobility. Therefore, students and employees gave several suggestions to improve the sustainable behavior among both groups. The results of the interviews with the coordinators of the Eco-Schools programme showed that the implementation and organization of the Eco-schools programme at Eco Faculties in Slovenia, which differ from each other in terms of the period of involvement in the Eco-schools programme, is simmilar. The operation of the Eco-Schools programme is supported by the faculty management. At the faculties are responsible for promoting sustainable development and for informing students and employees about the activities of the Eco-Schools programme. In addition to waste separation, students and employees are most familiar with projects and activities that are included in study programs or those in which they actively participate. Recently, there has been a very low interest of students and employees at the Eco Faculties in being involved in the activities of the Eco-Schools programme. Therefore, the coordinators made some key proposals to encurage greather involvement of students and employees in the Eco-Schools programme activities and to improve their sustainable behavior. They emphasized the importance of the promoting Eco-Schools programme, which would encurage cooperation among students and employees. The findings of the research can contribute to improving the implementation of the Eco-Schools programme at the Eco Faculties, encuraging the involvement of students and employees in the activities of the Eco-Schools programme, and improving the sustainability-oriented behavior of students and employees.
