Franc Šanc DJ : filozofska pot in razumevanje filozofije

V prispevku predstavljamo filozofa Franca Šanca SJ (1882–1953), ki je bil doslej sodobni slovenski javnosti bolj malo znan. Šanc je bil slovenski duhovnik in filozof, ki je večino življenja preživel v hrvaškem govornem prostoru in tudi napisal večino svojih del v hrvaškem jeziku. V članku izhajamo iz osnovnih biografskih dejstev in opisov avtorjeve filozofske poti. Poudarjamo njegovo razumevanje filozofije in njeno naravo odzivanja na krizo njegovega časa. Nadalje orišemo teme njegove filozofije religije, ki so odsev temeljnih političnih in kulturnih izzivov časa, v katerem je živel.

• Title: Franc Šanc SI : philosophical path and understanding of philosophy

Abstract

In this article, we present the philosopher Franc Šanc SI (1882–1953), who was little known to the modern Slovenian public. Šanc was a Slovene priest and philosopher who spent most of his life in the Croatian-speaking area and also wrote most of his works in the Croatian language. The article is based on basic biographical facts and descriptions of the author’s philosophical path. We emphasize his understanding of philosophy and its character in responding to the crisis of his time. We further outline the themes of his philosophy of religion that reflect the fundamental political and cultural challenges of the time in which he lived.
