Note: | TITTLE: Possibilities of cross-curricular integration of Slovene and German in the last three years of elementary school / ABSTRACT: In this master’s thesis, the issue of insufficient reading literacy among Slovene students, as confirmed by the results of the PISA survey, was addressed. The aim of the thesis was to create teaching materials that, through interdisciplinary integration of Slovene and German, would enhance the reading literacy of students in the third cycle of primary education. In the theoretical part, the components of reading literacy and the guidelines for its development were examined, along with the importance of cross-curricular teaching, the integration of two language subjects, and communicative competence. Cross-curricular teaching has been recognized as a particularly effective approach in developing general competencies that extend across individual subject areas, one of which is reading literacy. In the practical part, an analysis of the curricula for Slovene and German as an elective subject was conducted, and materials were developed with the aim of improving the reading literacy of Slovene students, both in their native and foreign languages, through the cross-curricular teaching of German and Slovene. / KEYWORDS: Slovene language, German language, reading literacy, cross-curricular teaching, communicative competence, creation of teaching materials, PISA, elementary school // Zusammenfassung: n. 86-108 |
