Regular integration of sports and music in a child’s everyday life and their interconnection has an exceptionally positive impact on the child. It maintains a healthy physical, mental, and emotional state, and influences their socio-affective, psychomotor, and cognitive development. These two areas' connection is also present in the educational process and included in the final three grades of primary school. One of the ways in which these areas can be connected is through cross-curricular linking of music and physical education, where the teacher focuses on connecting the curricula and aims of these subjects, doing so as holistically as possible. The study aimed to determine the teachers’ awareness of cross-curricular linking of music and sport in the final three grades of primary school and the effectiveness of linking these two subject areas for children’s development. It examines in what ways and how frequently teachers incorporate cross-curricular integration into the learning process. The findings point to a moderate to high awareness of cross-curricular integration of music and sport, as is their awareness of the effectiveness of integrating the two areas. Despite most of the teachers agreeing that cross-curricular integration should be included as frequently as possible into the learning process, they seldom if ever incorporate it in practice. The main reason is a lack of time. Teachers most commonly implement cross-curricular integration of music and physical education on field trips, camps and activity days. The main reason for including cross-curricular integration is, according to the respondents, relaxation and body awareness.
