Public transportation is a vital part of any developed country. Therefore, it is necessary to organize public transportation in a way that adapts to and meets the needs of the population. To this end, strategic plans in the field of passenger transport were established in 2017, along with an analysis of the current situation. It was found that significant investments are needed in several areas, including intercity, rail, and urban transportation.
The purpose of this thesis is to present the current state and legislation, and to compare public transportation with that in other countries, as well as to develop a web application for a unified timetable overview. The thesis is divided into two parts: a normative part and a practical part. The normative part outlines the regulatory framework of Slovenian public transport. The practical part describes an application that enables a unified timetable overview between two stations for three different carriers. The application is developed using JavaScript and Python programming languages. The two are integrated through the Flask framework, which is also used for server purposes. The application is designed for further expansion and is versatile due to its web-based nature.
