Abstract

Title:The impact of European cultural policy on Slovenian performing arts NGOs
Abstract:
The master thesis attempts to explore the impact of European cultural policy on Slovenian NGOs in the field of performing arts, following the line of European programmes starting with Kaleidoscope, then Culture and finally Creative Europe and their sub-programmes Culture. Methodologically, it focuses on the analysis of the documents of the above-mentioned European programmes as well as the strategic documents of the national cultural policy, and it reflects on the findings with the data obtained in interviews with representatives of some of the organisations in the field of research. Focusing on the level of organisations, it seeks to explore the impact of European cultural policy in terms of the simultaneous national cultural policies in place, and the reactions of organisations to longer-term cooperation within European projects, and limited funding opportunities, relying mainly on information gathered through interviews.
