In the 21st century, comics have begun to gain ground as an art form and as a medium in its own right. As a result, there are numerous studies, conversations and research on comics, which, due to the interdisciplinary nature of the medium, require a different, specific vocabulary. Although we have comics terminology in Slovenian, it is neither collected nor unified, which is why there is a need to collect and unify the terminology used to describe comics, and this is the purpose of the present Master's thesis. Its result is an English-Slovenian glossary, which brings together the most common comics terms or expressions that have equivalents in contemporary Slovenian usage. It contains 171 entries and is intended for anyone who is involved in discussions about comics. The final analysis of the collected vocabulary shows the degree of originality and adoption of Slovenian comics terminology. The conclusion suggests further steps for the dissemination, normalization and standardization of Slovenian professional comics terminology.
