The thesis focuses on the design for the craft of beekeeping, aiming to facilitate the maintenance of bees and improve the understanding of the operation of bees and their care. The aim of the research was to develop a solution for people who encounter beekeeping for the first time, who want to continue the tradition of their ancestors more simply, as well as for those who want to engage in beekeeping as a hobby, thus to a smaller degree, and to learn about the life of bees.
The research methodology included an analysis of existing forms of beekeeping, conversations with local beekeepers, and an analysis of the needs and challenges faced by beginner beekeepers. Based on the acquired knowledge, the designed project makes beehive maintenance more comprehensible and simpler. The solution is adapted for use in urban settlements, cities, schools, and kindergartens. The project contributes to preserving the bee population in urban environments, raising awareness of the importance of bees, and promoting a sustainable lifestyle.
