This master's thesis analyses the quality of the user experience of some of the most popular providers of video-on-demand content. With the development of technology and the increasing number of such providers, key aspects of the user experience are becoming increasingly important for user satisfaction. In our research, we analysed several providers on the Slovenian market, namely Netflix, Max, Disney+, Prime Video and Voyo, to see what kind of user experience they offer their users. In our analysis, we used both objective and subjective methods, including various latency metrics, an analysis of the use of heuristics and a user experience questionnaire. The main contribution of this work is the analysis of the current state of the user experience in the field of video-on-demand content and the identification of best practises to optimise it, such as consistent interface design and the adaptation of content for people with different disabilities. Of all the providers analysed, Netflix proved to be the most successful, mainly due to its comprehensive accessibility, fast response times and consistent adherence to heuristics.
