Abstract

Title:POPULISM AND DEMAGOGUERY OF PAHOR, JANŠA AND GOLOB ON THEIR SOCIAL MEDIA
Abstract:
On the basis of theory of bonapartism and cesarism, and the Laclau's theory, I explained key characteristics of both populism and demagoguery. I examined both on the slovene political scene and three politicians, that I personally chose, former president of Slovenia Borut Pahor, former prime minister of Slovenia Janez Janša and current prime minister of Slovenia Robert Golob. Their social media profiles served as a basis for my examination. Via their posts, I analysed their rhetoric, social and political themes of the posts and compared them, while simultaneously searching for similarities and differences between them.

Keywords:demagoguery, Slovenia, politicians, social media, charisma
