Diplomska naloga raziskuje metode in tehnike ročnega kovanja železa (obrtno kovanje), zgodovino kovaštva na Slovenskem ter v kakšnih oblikah se kovaštvo pojavlja v sedanjosti. Opisuje, kako se lotiti kovaštva, kje začeti in kaj vse je pomembno za kovačijo. V projektivnem delu diplomske naloge je razvit in oblikovan modularni sistem elementov za kovinsko stopniščno ograjo.

Abstract

This thesis explores the methods and techniques of hand forging iron (craft forging), the history of blacksmithing in Slovenia, and where and how blacksmithing occurs in the present. It describes how to start blacksmithing, where to start and what is important for a forge. At the design stage, a system of modular elements is presented for the design of metal stairs with a forged railing.
