The author has examined theoretical grounds of biblical nature protection ethics and also its potential to be a non-confessional tool for surmounting the conflict between anthropocentric and eco-centric approach when dealing with current nature protection issues. The thesis of Christianity being responsible for appearance of global environmental problems through its tradition of alleged God's will of human unconditional masterhood over the nature has also been surveyed. The reason for these wrong ideas is proven to lie in reductionism while interpreting some important biblical sources, e.g. Yahvist. Biblical nature protection ethics, which is a part of broader concept of biblical eco-humanism, does not demand religious affiliation. It represents adequate theoretical alternative when addressing practical and theoretical issues in the scope of nature protection.
