At the beginning of my master's thesis, a comprehensive definition of personnel and human resources was explained, with their key importance for organizations, as well as briefly referring to the importance of the personnel function. I continue with the subject of modern methods for recruiting candidates, where I was interested in the area of the employer brand and its influence on recruiting candidates, in addition, various social networks and other methods that are often used in HR practices in modern times, such as online employment portals, HR agencies and headhunting. The following section offers a detailed assessment of candidate selection methods, for example, various types of interviews, tests, references and recommendations. I also addressed graphology as a selection method, noting that it remains relatively uncommon in personnel practices in Slovenia. In addition, it was also explored the use of artificial intelligence as a modern method for personnel selection. In the second part of my master's thesis, my goal was to gain insight into specific HR practices from various companies. Throughout the research process, analysis led to the conclusion that various personnel recruitment and selection methods are used for various personnel profiles. HR practices are quite similar between companies, but however they exhibit slightly in some approaches. The primary factor is that modern and innovative methods are used in personnel practices, as only this leads to competitiveness on the labor market and, as a result, the acquisition of the best talents.
