The thesis addresses the analysis of two calculation methods for verifying the bearing capacity of a pile
in marshy soils, which present a significant challenge in terms of foundation design.
The first part of the thesis presents the characteristics of the Ljubljana Marshes, the types of piles, the
factors influencing their bearing capacity, and the types of soil investigations, with an emphasis on the
cone penetration test.
The second part of the thesis presents the methods for calculating pile bearing capacity according to the
current standard SIST EN 1997-2:2007 and the draft standard oSIST prEN 1997-3:2022, based on cone
penetration test measurements, an introduction to the dynamic load test used to measure the actual
bearing capacity of the piles, and finally, an analysis of the calculation results obtained by both methods
in comparison to the dynamic load test results.
