Abstract
Buildings are significant contributors to global energy consumption. Envelopes are the boundary between the interior and exterior environment and are of vital importance to energy control and occupant comfort. Traditional static facades are not the best energy conservers when it comes to changing conditions. In response to this kinetic facade system offer a much more active approach. This thesis explores the development of kinetic envelop systems through the use of BIM tools to determine how such systems could improve building performance and sustainability. The idea is to use BIM workflows combined with parametric design tools to create a kinetic facade that responds dynamically to environmental conditions. A base-case office building model was developed, and then kinetic façade panels were designed that would move in real time as the position of the sun changed during the course of the day and the seasons. Its performance was tested by simulating it and comparing it to static facade systems. The analysis demonstrates that the kinetic system performed better than static systems by reducing solar radiation exposure during peak hours. Additionally, one of the key advantages of the study was the ability to visualize façade performance. This provided and immersive experience that could simulate real-world occupant conditions. The visual response shows how kinetic facades can enhance environmental control and user comfort. The research concludes that kinetic façade systems, when integrated with BIM workflows, offer significant potential for sustainable building design. Future research should include more environmental parameters and also look into occupant-controlled systems in order to make kinetic facades more adaptable and efficient.

Title:Oblikovanje kinetičnega stavbnega ovoja visoko zmogljive stavbe z uporabo BIM : magistrsko delo
Abstract:
Stavbe pomembno prispevajo k svetovni porabi energije. Stavbni ovoji so meja med notranjim in zunanjim okoljem ter so bistvenega pomena za nadzor energije in udobje uporabnikov. Tradicionalne statične fasade niso najboljši porabniki energije, ko gre za spreminjajoče se razmere. Kinetični fasadni sistemi zato ponujajo veliko bolj aktiven pristop. V tej diplomski nalogi je z uporabo orodij BIM raziskan razvoj kinetičnih ovojnih sistemov, da bi ugotovili, kako bi lahko takšni sistemi izboljšali učinkovitost in trajnost stavb. Zamisel je uporabiti delovne postopke BIM v kombinaciji z orodji za parametrično načrtovanje za oblikovanje kinetične fasade, ki se dinamično odziva na okoljske razmere. Razvit je bil osnovni model pisarniške stavbe, nato pa so bile zasnovane kinetične fasadne plošče, ki bi se premikale v realnem času glede na spreminjanje položaja sonca tekom dneva in letnih časov. Njihova učinkovitost je bila preizkušena s simulacijo in primerjavo s statičnimi fasadnimi sistemi. Analiza je pokazala, da je kinetični sistem deloval bolje kot statični sistemi, saj je zmanjšal izpostavljenost sončnemu sevanju v času največjih obremenitev. Poleg tega je bila ena od ključnih prednosti študije možnost vizualizacije delovanja fasade. To je omogočilo potopitveno izkušnjo, s katero je bilo mogoče simulirati resnične razmere za uporabnike. Vizualni odziv kaže, kako lahko kinetične fasade izboljšajo nadzor okolja in udobje uporabnikov. Raziskava ugotavlja, da kinetični fasadni sistemi, če so povezani z delovnimi postopki BIM, ponujajo velik potencial za trajnostno načrtovanje stavb. Prihodnje raziskave bi morale vključevati več okoljskih parametrov in preučiti tudi sisteme, ki jih upravlja uporabnik, da bi bile kinetične fasade bolj prilagodljive in učinkovite.
