Abstract
Vzpostavitev cest in širitev konvencionalne medicine sta postopoma marginalizirali tradicionalne zdravilske prakse, zlasti v hribovskih predelih, kjer so se najdlje ohranile.

Title:Traditional Medicine in the Upper Savinja Valley and Its Revitalization
Abstract:
The thesis examines traditional medicine in the Upper Savinja valley focusing on its transmission and revitalization in modern times. The research is based on a medical-anthropological approach, which studies health, illness and treatment withing a cultural context. Traditional medicine, which includes healing methods, ethnobotanical knowledge and magical practices, such as charms, has for centuries been based on oral tradition and experiential knowledge transfer. However, with the development of infrastructure and industrialization that brought modernization and urbanization, traditional medicine began disappearing. The construction of roads and the proliferation of conventional medicine have gradually marginalized traditional healing practices, especially in mountainous areas where they have been preserved. Nonetheless, in recent decades, there has been a revitalization of these practices, particularly within the framework of complementary medicine systems, where traditional knowledge is preserved and adapted to contemporary conditions.
