In this diploma work we determined the carrying capacity of the environment in the Škocjanski zatok Nature Reserve and analysed the visit with the help of automatic visit counters, visitor surveys and infrastructure review. We determined the social capacity, the reasons for the visits of individual visitors and the zones of influence of visitors. We analysed the quantity and dynamics of visits from summer to late autumn 2021. Visitor numbers between July and December 2021 were compared with previous visitor counts. We carried out a comprehensive inventory of the infrastructure and assessed the adequacy of signage, routes, entrances and access to the facilities. Based on the analysis, we proposed adjustments to older measures that were implemented before the new facilities were built in 2016. For example, we suggested improving the visibility of information panels and optimising the layout and orientation of paths and viewpoints. We also proposed the development of recommendations for visitor guidance. Based on the collected data, we formulated recommendations which are helpful for managing a larger number of visitors.
